Creatures with a taste for human flesh have lurked at the shadowy edge of civilization for centuries.

To celebrate  this Thanksgiving season, we have decided to dine with a few of these creatures so we could learn more about what drives their insatiable cravings.

Heorot, the mighty Mead Hall of King Hrothgar, was visited night after night by Grendel, who devoured the men of the hall nightly until the mighty hero Beowulf paid a visit.

The Algonquin peoples told tales of the dreaded Wendigo, who hunted and cannibalized the humans in the fridged,  wintery forests of North America.

In Slavic folklore we find a strange hut that stands on chicken legs. Within lives Baba Yaga, a hideous ogress (or ogresses) who is ready for a new victim to cook into a meal.
